A shared family screen isn't a new idea. What makes it work is what it actually shows. A generic slideshow or clock isn't useful. A screen that shows your specific family's events for today, whose routine is active right now, who has something coming up at 3 PM — that's a tool.
Family Basecamp's Hub mode is designed for exactly that. You launch it from any device and it enters a full-screen display mode, cycling through the information your family actually needs at a glance: today's calendar, routine status for each person, upcoming events, a rotating family prompt.
What the hub displays
The hub rotates through several views on a timer — today's schedule with all events and who they involve, the weekly calendar at a glance, routine progress (who's done, who's still working through their steps), and a family message board. The display updates in real time as things change throughout the day.
When a kid marks a routine step done on their phone, the hub screen updates. When a new event is added to the calendar, it appears in the rotation. It's a live view of the family's current state, not a static poster.
Where families put it
The most common setup is a tablet mounted or propped in the kitchen — somewhere visible during the morning routine and the after-school window. An old iPad works. A small Fire tablet works. Anything with a browser and a screen. There's no dedicated hardware required, though Family Basecamp is designed to be compatible with dedicated display setups if you want to go that route.
The quiet benefit
When the schedule is visible, people stop needing to ask. Kids see what's happening today without asking a parent. Parents see which routines are complete without checking in individually. The screen does the communication that used to be verbal. That's not a small thing in a busy household.
Put it somewhere everyone walks past. Within a week, you'll notice the difference.
